Our Mission

Big government is not simply the size of the budget, or the number of federal programs; it is the role the federal government plays in our daily lives.

We at the Lincoln Heritage Institute will not sit idly by and allow bloated bureaucracies, budensome tax policies, a failing public education system, and out of control regulatory system, and a growing disregard for the rule of law to become an accepted way of life.

We have as our purpose, through public education, the revitalization and preservation of our traditional political, social, commercial, and legal environment in which the only limits to achievement are individual ability and effort.

Talk Radio in the Liberal Crosshairs

by Neal Boortz, Nealz Nuze

You’re going to be hearing about a new study that’s due to come out later this week. The study is from some liberal think tank called the Center for American Progress. The report is going to cite a “massive imbalance” between conservative and “progressive” (that would be liberal) talk radio. As you might have guessed, this report will contain some proposals for solutions – and I’m guessing we’re in for another push for the resurrection of the idiotically-named “Fairness Doctrine.”

It will come as no surprise whatsoever that this leftist report will make some reference to the absurd concept of “public ownership of the airwaves.” This “public ownership” nonsense is nothing more than a canard created by the political class to excuse government control of a major means for the dissemination of information – a concept essential to despots.

I’m busy putting together a little mini-essay on this “public ownership of the airwaves” nonsense. Look for around the time the left unleashes their attack on talk radio. You know, there is no law against people listening to left-wing talk show hosts. I guess the sad truth is that they just didn’t have anything to say that people really wanted to hear. Sad, isn’t it?
