Our Mission |
Big government is not simply the size of the budget, or the number of federal programs; it is the role the federal government plays in our daily lives.
We at the Lincoln Heritage Institute will not sit idly by and allow bloated bureaucracies, budensome tax policies, a failing public education system, and out of control regulatory system, and a growing disregard for the rule of law to become an accepted way of life
We have as our purpose, through public education, the revitalization and preservation of our traditional political, social, commercial, and legal environment in which the only limits to achievement are individual ability and effort. |

The Dangers of being the best Kyoto |
|
By C. Bedell, LHI Trustee
FOOD FOR THOUGHT AS RELATES TO KYOTO TREATY
One could argue that "Kyoto" is an economic sneak attack ... a sort of wolf >in green clothing. It is part of a campaign designed to put a cap on >developed world economies in the hope that by doing so the potential >economic development those nations would have enjoyed will somehow be >transplanted magically to third world countries. That doesn't seem too >likely when one thinks carefully about it. It represents a very negative, >old economics view of the potential for growth, overall. . . i.e. there is >only so much growth and they (the smarter, more compassionate ones ) want >to distribute it more "equitably". They believe they can achieve by one >stroke what years of economic evolution and attempted revolutions have >failed to do.. Even if they could redistribute the wealth, it wouldn 't >work in the long run.. Those to whom it was "given" could not sustain it.
